Olathe is Johnson County's largest city, and Garmin is the reason its corporate calendar looks the way it does. Garmin's U.S. operational headquarters sits at 151st and Ridgeview with close to 5,000 associates — a campus the company has spent $200 million expanding across multiple phases, adding a manufacturing and distribution facility, a parking garage, and nearly 1,000 jobs. Garmin was founded in Kansas in 1989 and still builds product here.
That scale changes the calendar. It isn't one coffee break — it's quarterly meetings, department all-hands, appreciation days, vendor days, and the Tuesday somebody decided needed to feel different. Add the offices along College Boulevard and the 151st Street corridor and Olathe books more corporate coffee than most cities twice its size.
